Why Bonuses Suck

Bonuses suck, and if you're on a crypto casino looking for the best bonuses, you're probably retarded.

Here is why:

Net Edge is What PaysNobody really bothers calculating this, and casinos like to keep it mostly obfuscated. But what matters is the net edge — how much you're expected to lose on each bet plus how much you're expected to get back in bonuses. This gives you a net edge number — your long term expected loss, accounting for bonuses. This is the number that matters, as it's the mathematical average of what you're expected to lose on every wager long term. The house edge of the game alone becomes less relevant. If you're playing on a slot with a 3.5% house edge but your bonuses give you 50% back, your net edge is 1.75%. This is much worse than a game with a 1% house edge and no bonuses! However, to many players, it feels more psychologically appealing to play on a higher house edge game if they get bonuses back in the end. This is retardation. Calculate your net edge — which almost nobody does — and you'll know the reality of the deal you're getting.Keep it Simple, StupidBonuses add a lot of needless complexity to the gameplay experience, often in ways that degrade it. First of all, most casinos have bonuses that come with a ton of requirements — wager requirements (20x turnover), deposit and lossback limits, and more. Many bonuses need to be claimed at specific times otherwise they expire. Some casinos even attach malicious hidden strings such as needing to wager on particular games or not 'abusing' the bonus using vague rules, which adds an additional initially invisible tax to the existing net edge calculation. This is a lot of complexity for nothing. From a financial perspective, players would be better off if the casino simply reduced the house edge to the net edge value. They wouldn't need to jump through a bunch of hoops, evade vague requirements and rules, camp on the website for a particular amount of time, or miss out on the bonuses by not understanding them properly or not clicking the right buttons. And it would erase a bunch of effort for the end user. Casinos won't do this, though, because they profit from the 'retention' and obfuscation.Don't Be a SheepCasinos rely on your lack of knowledge of these various systems. Sheep will not bother reading the bonus conditions or calculating their net edge — they play on semi-autopilot, and feel 'rewarded' when a bonus hits their account. Many of them truly believe that the casino is giving them money back for 'free' and develop a sense of loyalty, without comprehending the fact that it's all paid for by the higher house edge. Casinos are not charities, and every bonus is funded by the higher house edge, whereas you can find alternative casinos that might not have bonuses but have a lower net edge hence giving you the best deal overall. If you think casinos give you bonuses because they are generous, if they make you 'feel good,' and if you don't bother comparing your consolidated net edge to other opportunities on the market, you're unfortunately at least a little bit retarded. Don't fall for the psychological tricks, manipulation, and obfuscation casinos use to entrap you and build retention — understand that bonuses suck, and play where you're treated best from a net edge and experience perspective.
